Thank you for visiting tournament gambling. Your source for poker tournament information, both for online and home play. I've been playing in poker tournaments for many years, mostly just home games, but with the advent of the online poker I find myself increasingly playing in online tournaments for bigger stakes. It ranged in learning more about setting up home tourneys, or where you can find the best action in online tournaments, this site was built for you.

Popular poker tournaments recently televised have made the world of Texas Holdem tournaments more popular than ever. But you don't have to be an aspiring professional to enjoy tournament poker, just someone who enjoys a good game cards and a little healthy competition. From sit and go tournaments with as few as five players to multi-table tournaments and freerolls with thousands of people battling it out for big prizes, the Internet has made plenty of games easily accessible to all.

Home Tournaments
Setting up a live tournament is easier than you think. This article discusses how to set up a home game properly, with a handful of players to a few dozen. Blinds, balancing tables, the equipment you'll need, etc.

Blinds
How to decide initial blind amounts, how often to double, coloring up chips as the tournament progresses, and what kind of equipment you need.

Etiquette
It's your poker tournament, so ultimately what's proper etiquette is up to you, but here's some suggestions for keeping your players happy with some general rules at the table.

Sit and Go Tournaments
Sit and go, or single table tournaments - are sit and go tournaments that start when the table is filled rather with than at a pre-designated time. Most online sit and go tournaments involve six or 10 player tables, but there are also occasionally multi-table sit and go, five player tables and even heads up (one-on-one) games.

Freerolls
What's a freeroll? It's a tournament with no entry fees that offers real prizes to the winner(s). They're not my favorite, as there are a lot of players battling it out for relatively small prizes, but with nothing to lose and the possibility of something to win, they're popular nonetheless and admittedly a fun way for new players to test their skills.

Satellites
Satellite tournaments are those in which players pay a smaller entry fee to play in a tournament against other players in which the prize (or prizes) are a free entry to a larger tournament. This allows skilled players to work their way into larger tournaments without having to pay the large entry fees, by winning a series of smaller tournaments or a single smaller tournament beforehand in a satellite.
